ATC & The Environment

Through proactive driver training an organisation reduces the harmful impact of its transportation operations on the environment.  Benefits include:

  • Reduced emissions from vehicles
  • Reduced use of energy through more effective use of controls
  • Damage limitation to environments through better control of specialised vehicles
  • Reduced demand for natural resources achieved through lower fuel consumption, and better wear and tear on tyres and component parts.

How ATC Helps the Environment

ATC is committed to continuous quality improvement in all areas of its business. We are conscious that our day-to-day operations may inevitably impact on the environment in a number of ways. It is therefore our responsibility to minimise the effects we have on the environment.

In our operations we will take the following action:

  • Resource and energy use

We will design energy efficiency into our services and premises, manage energy wisely in all our operations and be efficient in our use of natural resources.

  • Emissions

We will reduce, wherever possible, the levels of harmful emissions from our premises and vehicles.

  • Waste Management

We will reduce waste and actively promote recycling and the use of recycled materials, both in the services we provide and in our internal operations.

  • Local Ecology

We will be aware of the environmental impact we have on all our immediate neighbours.

  • Communications

We will ensure that environmental issues are always incorporated within all our training programmes to adopt sound environmental practices.

  • Continuous improvements in environmental performance

We will monitor our progress to identify areas for improvement and to address potential areas of weakness.

Throughout our operations we will comply with all relevant legislation. A full copy of our Environmental Policy is available on request.
